Title: [GreenYes] Incentives to encourage commercial recycling?
Hi - The city I work for currently charges waste haulers 5% of their
gross revenue in order for the waste hauler to recieve a non-exclusive
francise agreement to haul waste within our city limits. We are
considering increasing the percentage of the non-exclusive francise
agreement, then lowering the percentage back to 5% (or lower) of their
gross revenue if the waste hauler can show that they are recycling "x"
percent of their waste hauled.
Curious to hear about any other communities with similar incentive
programs.
