I think what angers me aside from the incredible
damage to the river and ocean ecosystems (google marine debris) this
stuff is doing, is that these products come from oil and are
designed for the landfill or incinerator. The value of polymers
today is very high. The producers should be held responsible
and be required to take back their products and packages. The
question of growing food in PE is a distraction to the wasting of this
material due to the irresponsibility of the manufacturers for bad design and
government for subsidizing their disposal.
