A lot of Americans will be surprised this just
happened in 4Q07. The % of dollar sales has been higher for a longer
period. But CRTs are still being made. Part of the well-publicized
closure of Samsung CRT furnace in Europe, LG furnace in Brazil, Asahi in Taiwan
actually had to do with the spike in Chinese CRT manufacturing as much as the
loss of margins to LCD.

Global TV shipments grew 21% on quarter and 5% on year to 60.8
million units, which brought 2007 total shipments to almost 200 million
units worldwide. For the full year in 2007, TV revenues exceeded US$100
billion for the first time, with revenues in the fourth quarter of 2007
climbing 10% on year and 26% on quarter to a record US$32.9
