[GreenYes] Landfill Protocol: News from California Climate Action Registry

Begin forwarded message:

Registry logoLandfill Protocol Released for Public Comment
Did you know solid waste landfills are the single largest man-made source of methane gas in the United States? The Registry is pleased to release the Draft Landfill Project Reporting Protocol and Draft Landfill Project Verification Protocol for public review and comment.  These protocols provide guidance to account for, report and verify greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions associated with installing a landfill gas collection and combustion system.  Project developers that install landfill gas control technologies will use this protocol to register GHG reductions with the CA Registry.

Comments and feedback on the documents are welcome.  Written comments on the draft protocols are due by Tuesday November 13.  Both draft protocols are available for download at CA Registry's landfill gas protocol page.  Please direct comments to Derek Markolf, Senior Policy Manager, at Derek@no.address

The public is also invited to attend a public workshop conducted by the CA Registry and co-hosted by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB).
