Dear Colleagues--I thought this forwarded e-mail from
another professional mailing list might be of interest. It relates
to a sturdy being proposed by the Australian government. It is
interesting to note that "plastics" are being lumped in with
"chemicals", meaning mostly hazardous industrial chemicals in
this context, at least in the Australian system of industrial
nomenclature. The second link below is to a Web site for the
proposed study. A program document is available detailing the study
(upper right corner). Appendix A of this document gives a breakdown
of the various classes of industrial chemicals and "plastics"
as defined by the Australian system.
