I am listening to NPR¹s Science Friday out of a part of an ear, and they are talking about various types of alternative energy. I think I may have heard them mention municipal recycling programs as a potential source of cellulose (wood and paper) for energy. I thought that was a really interesting idea. Does anyone know anyone looking into this? I wonder if it would compete with paper to paper markets. I doubt that a municipality or region could feed a whole cellulosic ethanol plant with it¹s cellulosic waste, but I imagine a plant could provide another market for paper, yard waste, C&D, and bulky wood waste.
