I'm sure Matthew Cotton is correct that remaining digested solids from Oakland food scraps processed at East Bay Municipal Utility District's Oakland waste water plant could be composted or land applied. But due to the absence of local composting processing capacity for waste water treatment residue (including food scraps residue), and the shrinking capacity/higher cost for land application, this material is increasing sent to landfill as ADC (90% in 2005).
