TITLE:  Recycling Technician

POSITION NUMBER: 4620002

DEPARTMENT: Solid Waste

SALARY RANGE:  $23,991.91 - $27,781.40 annually

HOURS OF WORK:  8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, M-F (some Saturday)

 

  

STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for driving recycling collection
equipment on an assigned route; delivering recyclables to appropriate
destinations; separating and distributing recyclables; assisting with
operations of household hazardous waste facility; ensuring proper
completion of assigned work and adequate safety precautions; Separates
recyclables and distributes for proper shipment; delivers recyclables to
appropriate destinations; Unloads vehicles  and properly handles and
stores household hazardous wastes.

 

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:  Any combination of education and experience
equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in
the operation of heavy automotive equipment and some experience in
recycling or hazardous waste operations. Valid NC Commercial Driver's
License (minimum class B).  Ability to obtain HAZWOPER certification.
