PartnerBins Pilot Program
The Baltimore Department of Public Works is trying an innovative
approach to encouraging recycling around the Inner Harbor and downtown.
The project is designed to save money, generate revenue and help to
keep the streets clean. They are using receptacles called
"PartnerBins." These bins have two compartments, one for trash and
one for recyclables. The receptacles are paid for by advertisements
that cover the four sides of each bin. The city has partnered with
Outdoor Partner Media to run the program and to sell advertising space.
