PLEASE FORWARD

Last fall, Wal-Mart committed to phasing out PVC packaging, sending
shockwaves throughout the chemical industry. Help leverage this victory and
send a message to Wal-Mart asking them to declare independence from PVC, the
poison plastic.

Take Action Today

>From vinyl shower curtains to children's toys, PVC (polyvinyl chloride)
plastic products pervade our homes and lives. These products are dangerous
to our health and environment from start to finish - in the factory, at
home, and in the trash, releasing poisonous chemicals linked to cancer and
birth defects. The new shower curtain smell is the smell of toxic
chemicals being released in your home. The good news is safe and
cost-effective alternatives exist.

Wal-Mart sells many common consumer products out of the poison plastic.
Families shouldn't have to worry whether their children's toys or shower
curtain may expose their children to dangerous toxins. As the worlds
largest retailer bringing in over $300 billion in sales, Wal-Mart has a
responsibility to sell safe and healthy products instead of products
containing unnecessary dangerous chemicals. Other retailers, such as Ikea,
have completely phased out PVC.

Take
<http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/organizationsORG/CHEJ/campaign.jsp?cam

PVC. It will only take a minute, and could make a major difference.

Help us spread the word by forwarding this message to your friends and
family or through
<http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/organizationsORG/CHEJ/tellafriend.jsp?
tell_a_friend_KEY=871> the tell-a-friend page and encourage them to take
action today.
