Illustrious Colleagues, The following job opening is available in North Carolina. Job # 0160/2006-Environmental Program Coordinator Environmental Services Hiring Range: $30,073 to $50,227 Work Schedule/Location: Mon.-Fri. 8:30a.m.-5:15p.m. (may vary)/Waverly F. Akins Wake County Office Building (337 S. Salisbury Street) Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Education, Studies, Health or Science; Public Administration or related field and two years of experience in environmental education or studies; or equivalent. Special Requirements: A valid driver's license and a "safe" driving record required. Preferred Qualifications: Two years of professional experience in solid waste or a similar field. Duties: Develop an implementation plan for business recycling strategy; identify stakeholders and build consensus for business recycling; identify barriers to business recycling and recommend methods to overcome them; research successful business recycling models, ordinances and contracts; provide information and education to the public about solid waste and recycling programs administered by Wake County via receiving phone calls, e-mails and making public presentations; assist with current solid waste programs including Keep America Beautiful, school recycling, electronics recycling, product stewardship and other solid waste initiatives including budget oversight; research new and emerging solid waste and recycling initiatives and technologies as well as perform other duties as assigned.
