[GreenYes] Drinking fountains

In response to Helen's missive, it's interesting to note we've had a large set of beautiful water fountains operating 24-hours-per-day in Portland, Oregon for about 140 years. One of the founding barons of the city, a Simon Benson, was appalled at the drunken ways of the lumbermen who would visit our fair city. Benson thought that if he supplied fresh mountain water off of Mount Hood on many street corners, they would be readily used and this would slake the thirst of these visotors and eliminate their over indulgence. Hah!
