[GreenYes] REUTERS: Chinese primary metals smelter dumps toxins in city water

Another reminder that MINING SUCKS. Most people have already forgotten about Europe's Danube River disaster 5 years ago, when the copper smelters killed all the fish. The scale of toxins from primary metal mining dwarfs the dirtiest recycling operations on the planet.

This is a smelter for lead and zinc which means it purchases mining concentrates from Chinese and Indonesian mining operations; the chemical leaks of cadmium and Benzoate are not necessary in recycling smelting operations.
