------------------------- Industry celebrates EU deca-BDE exemption Environment Daily 1963, 17/10/05 ------------------------- Industry gave a strong welcome on Monday to confirmation that the EU has exempted the brominated flame retardant deca-BDE from the restriction on hazardous substances (RoHS) directive. A new law was published in the bloc's official journal on 15 October at the European Commission's behest after member states failed to decide for or against the measure (ED 15/09/05 http://www.environmentdaily.com/articles/index.cfm?action=article&ref=19413). Sector group Ebfrip said the development was "reassuring news for electronics manufacturers worldwide.
