GM Chief to Face Harsh Light From Shareholders' Questions
By ANN KEETON and SIMONA COVEL

Large SUVs and pickups have been GM's biggest profit makers, but sales of
the departing models have slumped in recent months as gasoline prices have
risen and consumers have shifted toward smoother-riding crossover wagons.

Robert Barry, a Goldman Sachs analysts who just initiated coverage on GM
with an "underperform" rating, said GM's marketing is out of touch. "We
think of cars as fashion goods," he said on a conference call Thursday.
"Fashion is moving away from SUVs."
