Yes, the BBC needs some better research....  Promptly produced from the
depths of Dr. Peter Spendelow's cubicle, the 1982 Annual Report from
Oregon DEQ lists no fewer than thirty waste haulers offering curbside
recycling in fourteen Oregon cities. Some collected eight different
commodities, and all solicited glass, but only one accepted plastic.
How times have changed...
