Laura:
California Against Waste website has a spreadsheet list on legislative efforts
for the
US and International for 2002 and 2003 -free to the public but it appears to be
lat updated in 2003, you
may want to take a look at it --http://www.cawrecycles.org/. )press the E waste
bar on the left, then scroll down to E-Waste: Policy & Legislation and press on
"other states ewaste legislation" and then look at the downloadable Excel
spreadsheet.) It looks like in 2003 NJ was banning cell phone disposal and a
number of other states had legislation with a scope beyond CRTs.
I highly reccomend looking at the Raymond Communications website and their
legislative reports. They provide the most updated legislative e-waste
information (current for 2005). It is very accurate and detailed. There is a
nominal fee for the Raymond report http://www.raymond.com/.
Also be sure to visit the INFORM website for the following two cell phone
related reports, there might be info on legislative efforts in the reports--
