I just received the following questions from a
visitor to our Web site. Does anyone have the information she's
seeking?
"Our community
school has recently announced intentions to do away with its dishroom and
instead serve school lunches on disposable ware. They report that all
schools are moving in this direction. I hope to make a case (and make a
fuss) to convince them to keep the reusable dishes. I am looking for
research to demonstrate the ill effects of disposables for the environment, the
cost involved in such a switch and examples of schools that are reducing rather
than increasing waste, especially in Kentucky. Please refer me to any
sources of information that you know of."
