Dear David,

Your posting is interesting and revealing in terms of the concepts of peace 
and security.  Resource issues have often been sources of conflict among groups 
of people and nations throughout history, issues such as access to water and 
oil being just two examples.

It seems that the controversy over the award of the Nobel Peace Prize this 
year has touched a nerve, sparking a much needed conversation about the 
definition of peace, long-standing environmental concerns, grass-roots leadership, and 
leadership by women in societies that are paternalisitic.  Thank you for the 
posting.
