[greenyes] Profitable Sustainability Conference 9/26-29, Seattle

Apologies for Cross-Postings

Profitable Sustainability: The Future of Business ? a conference showcasing best practices, new technologies, innovative products, and systems-wide sustainable business strategies that companies like HP, Starbucks, Nike, Cargill-Dow, Ricoh, Boeing and many others, both large and small, are developing in response to the economic, social and environmental challenges of our time. The conference offers strategic business models and concrete steps companies can take to respond to the changing requirements of the marketplace for accountability in product stewardship and in business activities.

Who is attending? The conference is being promoted nationally and internationally, as well as throughout the Northwest, West Coast and Canada. Some 500 participants are expected to attend the three-day conference. These include corporate directors, senior managers and executives, technologists, educators and government decision makers. Large and small companies will benefit from the conference events.

WHO ARE THE Organizers? The Network for Business Innovation and Sustainability, based in Seattle, is producing the conference in partnership with the Future 500 of San Francisco and Japan, and an Executive Planning Committee of business, civic and education leaders in the Northwest. The extensive business-focused program has attracted significant support from corporate sponsors, including Starbucks Coffee Company, the Russell Investment Group, Nordstrom, The Boeing Company, RetroBox, REI, Arup and many others.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? Managing for the ?triple bottom line? ? social and environmental value as well as economic value ? is a growing marketplace imperative. The conference has attracted an outstanding group of speakers who address the challenges and opportunities of sustainability, from building brand recognition and attracting investment capital, increasing shareholder value and leveraging partnerships, to developing and utilizing clean products and processes, operating in balance with local economies and cultures, embedding sustainability throughout company operations, and bringing innovative ?clean? products to the marketplace.

Learn from the pioneers and from those who are proving that ?sustainable? business is good business. This is a great opportunity to learn about the sustainability advantage!
