C2: Alternative Services is a small consulting firm assisting local governments and businesses with environmental programs, especially public education regarding waste reduction and recycling.  

 

We have a position available for a Recycling Coordinator.  It is in Sonoma County California and preference will be given to candidates who live locally.  Duties will include: 

   Working directly with a wide variety of businesses, property managers and multi-family housing managers and tenants, to reduce solid waste going to landfill
   Data collection including detailed observations of solid waste and recycling containers and data entry.
   Record keeping and reporting

 

Qualities we are looking for include good people skills, self-motivated, detail oriented, problem solving ability.  Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.  Knowledge of environmental issues, particularly waste handling is a plus.  Proficiency with PC software including Word, Excel, and Access is also desirable.  Much of the work is in the field and requires energy and endurance for walking/ standing/ interacting with people.  

 

Employee will work from home and use own vehicle.  Mileage will be compensated.  

 

The position is part-time approximately 20 hours per week, and hours are somewhat flexible.  Hourly rate is $14- $16 depending on experience.  The position is available immediately and is funded for approximately 12 months with possible extension.
