Apologies for Cross-Postings The National Recycling Coalition has put together an amazing program of educational sessions, tours, and networking events for the 23rd Annual Congress & Expo in San Francisco, August 28-September 1, 2004. You can now view the program and schedule online and download a registration form at http://www.nrc-recycle.org/congress. NRC has negotiated some great prices with three San Francisco hotels for Congress & Expo attendees (see http://www.nrc-recycle.org/congress/sftravelinfo/sfhotels.htm). Make your reservations before August 6, 2004 to take advantage of these reduced rates. Here are just a few highlights: --Nearly 40 educational sessions on all of today's hot topics: capturing food waste from residents and restaurants, recycling at special events and large venues, e-scrap recycling, the impact of exports on recycling markets, the next generation in program design (including single stream), increasing container recycling, and much more. --Twenty tours of some of the leading waste reduction programs in the nation. With the help of our friends at the San Francisco Department of the Environment, we've got tours covering food and organics composting, deconstruction, plastics recycling, regional processing, creative reuse, business recycling, large venue recycling, and waste reduction in some of San Francisco's most interesting neighborhoods, from Fisherman's Wharf to Chinatown. In addition, we have scheduled numerous cultural and natural environment tours before and after the Congress so you can enjoy the Bay Area's many riches. If you've never taken a Congress tour before, now is the time to try one or two! You don't have to register for the conference to take a tour. --Our evening networking events are even better than usual! We'll take you out on San Francisco Bay for a sunset cruise aboard a Hornblower yacht for our Annual Welcoming Reception on Sunday evening, immediately followed by a Dine-O-Rama at hot SF eateries; offer you a "Taste of San Francisco," including wine tasting on Monday; take you out to the ballpark for a Giants v. Rockies game on Tuesday; and wrap up the Congress with a San Francisco Pub Crawl on Wednesday night. As you can see, we have filled this year's schedule with lots of exciting educational and networking opportunities. To fit it all in, we highly recommend that you arrive a little earlier and stay a little later than usual. See www.nrc-recycle.org/congress for a detailed schedule of events, travel information, a registration form, and more. ___________________________ National Recycling Coalition 1325 G St., NW - Suite 1025 Washington, D.C. 20005-3015 P. 202-347-0450 F. 202-347-0449 Gary Liss 916-652-7850 Fax: 916-652-0485 |
