HP processes in the US; they've got a plant in California and maybe more
elsewhere. HP received the highest marks on the Clean Computer
Campaign's Annual Computer REport CArd, and has signed the Principles of
Producer Responsibility. HP's efforts wtih Office Depot exemplify this
leadership (as well as being a canny market move!). See
http://www.svtc.org/cleancc/pubs/2003report.htm#grades for details.

I checked with our local store and the program is in effect there. They
said they are shipping the material to HP Recycling. Does anyone know
where they process this...here or abroad?

Info is at www.officedepot.com - scroll down if you have a small screen
(like I do) and it is in the left-hand column.

Subject: [greenyes] E-Cycling at Office Depot
Greetings All---
I just read an article in today's USA Today that stated Office Depot
will be offering FREE Electronics Recycling from Sunday July 18, 2004,
through September 6, 2004. It states in the article that "consumers can
take old computers and other electronics to Office Depot for free
recycling this summer...". Just wondering if anyone else had heard
about this. I am going to call our local store to see if ALL stores are
participating and what items they are taking.
Anyway, thought I'd pass it on....
