Zero Waste: Once an idealistic vision, then a realistic goal and now a
planning framework for communities and sustainable enterprise.
This one-day event is a gathering of Zero Waste experts and advocates from
across North America and around the globe. GRRN, as the U.S. affiliate of the
Zero Waste International Alliance (ZWIA), is working to organize this nation to
become an international leader in advancing Zero Waste policies, planning and
practices. Attendees will be collaborating to move the ideas of Zero Waste
into action.
The agenda is built around three interrelated objectives:
Articulate a shared vocabulary and commonly understood policy framework
around Zero Waste;
Provide a forum for networking to increase cohesion and facilitate on-going
collaboration;
Develop an action plan to further advance our framework in the realms of
public policy and corporate practice.
Who should attend?
Long-time GRRN participants
New recruits, including students and youth
Community activists fighting landfills or incinerators and advocating the
Zero Waste
alternative
Allies in GRRN campaigns
