Solid Waste Enforcement Supervisor

Enforces Regulated Recyclable Materials Ordinance (RRMO) through
issuance of permits, licenses, certifications and citations. Coordinates
the implementation of the ordinance in other jurisdictions in the
County. Compiles and analyzes data on building projects, types of waste
generated, methods of management of waste material and associated permit
fees. Conducts job site visits and monitors waste loads.Conducts
followup to reports of violations. Conducts followup inspections of
certified recycling facilities and analyzes regular tonnage and customer
reports. Issues citations and recommends suspensions or revocations of
licenses. Participates in development review processes, reviewing solid
waste management plans and making recommendations as necessary.
Maintains records and recommends revisions to the RRMO. Advises staff on
budgetary issues related to ordinance administration and enforcement.
Supervises assigns and evaluates the work of assigned. Performs other
duties as assigned.

Requirements: Requires any combination of education and experience
equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with
major coursework in business, industrial science, environmental
management, public administration, planning, or related field and at
least three years supervisory experience in construction management,
hazardous waste, code enforcement, recycling or related area. Requires
the ability to work independently and strong written and oral
communications, leadership, operations management, computer and
enviromental/safety skills. Prefer experience with Microsoft Word and
Excel. 

Salary $38,150 - $60,989 (Grade 18) (Hiring range up to $49,500
