Lisa, all,
For formed styrofoam there are two really good options:
1) Contact Diana at the Alliance of Foam Packaging Recyclers at (410)
451-8340. It is her job to find a styrofoam recycler nearest you, and she
will. She did for me! This org also has a website fyi.
2) Contact your local Pak-Mail type retailer. I know people say they only
take peanuts, but many also take formed styrofoam and cardboard boxes. It's
definitely worth a try. Our local one here in rural Nebraska just took
dozens of computer boxes, packaging and all, off our hands.
A home-grown reuse option is what my rural neighbors do: They use it to
insulate their outbuildings.
Good luck and stay warm!

(not the peanuts). He's located in southern Maine. and I remember there
being a discussion on this earlier this winter, but can't find the posts.
Any suggestions?
