RE: [greenyes] Recycling Marketing Cooperatives
I'm not sure what you mean by "marketing" but you might be interested in
our group.
We operate the "Central Coast Recycling Media Coalition," a joint
advertising venture among the counties of Monterey, San Benito and Santa
Cruz in California. Focusing mainly on TV and radio advertising, the
group has banded together to share resources for the production of
recycling and litter ads. The electronic media reach all three counties,
so combining the advertising efforts saves dollars and eliminates
duplication. Participants include cities, county agencies, and private
hauling companies. A majority of the dollars in the group's budget comes
from California Dept. of Conservation local grants allocated annually to
cities and counties. The group has been in existence for 3 years.
During FY 2002/03, the campaign resulted in 521 TV spots and 695 radio
commercials, as well as a number of free PSAs. One third of the ads are
broadcast on Spanish-speaking stations.

Subject: [greenyes] Recycling Marketing Cooperatives

Hello All -

Previously, when the document listed above was first developed a survey
was
conducted to identify as many active functioning, cooperative recycling
marketing programs as possible throughout the U.S. A list of these
organizations and the survey results were printed the 1998 document
which we
are currently trying to update. In an attempt to assist Kay Stevens and
the
Nebraska Recycling Association in revising and updating the document, we
need to know if you are still in operation and/or if you know of other
recycling cooperative markeing groups that exist currently.

Any and all contact information you can provide regarding these types of
cooperatives would be greatly appreciated. You can send all information
to
me directly.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact
me.

Thanks so much,
