[greenyes] SUSTAINABLE CAMPUS CONFERENCE FOR STUDENTS IN MONTREAL

***Register before Monday, September 15 and get $20 off registration!!!**** Registration deadline is September 22

The Sierra Youth Coalition in partnership with McGill and Concordia
Universities proudly present:

THE 5th ANNUAL NATIONAL SUSTAINABLE CAMPUSES CONFERENCE
OCTOBER 2-5, 2003 - MONTREAL

The Sustainable Campuses Conference aims to support and empower
students to actively engage their knowledge to promote social and
environmental responsibility and sustainability on their college and
university campuses.

Through a variety of creative skill-building and hands-on workshops,
keynote speaker presentations, student-run group presentations and
field trips, participants will gain practical knowledge and skills
and learn about new tools to asses and evaluate sustainability and
environmental impact on campuses. This year's gathering is also
celebrating the official launch of Canada's First Campus
Sustainability Assessment Framework (CSAF).

The CSAF is the result of over two years of intensive work that
involved more than 30 students, professors and experts in the field
of sustainability. This tool aims to holistically assess campus
sustainability by looking at the economical, social and environmental
practices of the University.

The Sierra Youth Coalition (SYC) organizes the Sustainable Campuses
Conference. The SYC is the youth-run arm of the Sierra Club of Canada
and the country's only national youth environmental organization.
