[greenyes] Green Building
Greenyes Greenbuilding gurus,

When given the choice between real wood and composite wood blinds for
window treatments, which would be the most environmentally beneficial?
The wood blinds are, of course, made from real wood (usu. bass wood,
oak, etc.) and the composite blinds are made from PVC and wood chips.
Is there something to be said for purchasing the composite blinds
because they may stimulate further deamnd for recycled plastic (if in
fact the plastic is recycled), or is the process of making PVC so
environmentally detrimental that it negates any economic benefits from
the recycling demand side?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
