What's curious to me is the implied porosity.
By it's nature, asphaltic cement is soft in hot weather. So how does it stay
porous in hot weather with traffic?
And porosity implies an open cell structure. How's that created with a
tar-based material?
And if it's scraped & reheated to re-apply, how does it keep its porosity?
And if it stays rigid like portland cement in hot weather to maintain
porosity, doesn't it lose the advantage of asphalt as a hot-apply material that
adheres to and seals an older surface?
