[greenyes] recycling demographics

Could anyone direct me to demographics about which individuals in a 
household are more likely to influence recycling decisions? Are women 
more likely to recycle than men? Are children more likely to recycle 
than their parents? Is the answer different depending upon the culture? 
(For example, I suspect that in households where the parents came to the 
U.S. from another country, the children may be more likely to encourage 
recycling.) I am interested in finding one or more studies that 
investigate this issue.
