Dwight Adams asked:
<<
Can you give me the figures on the amount of energy saved (say per ton)
when beverage containers, both plastic and aluminum, are: 1) reused, 2)
recycled (mad into new containers)? I may have these somewhere in the old
"Guidance document" but can not find it. I am preparing something for FL
Chapter SC meeting in one week to try and revive interest in promoting
RRRC. I got Doris' email in regard to RRR.
>>
Dwight, The latest numbers I have see were prepared by Jeff Morris
and published in the BEAR Multi-Stakeholder Recovery Project report.
Check out Chapter 4 and especially Table 4-1, Benefits Due to Beverage
Container Recycling in 1999. The report is on the Global Green USA
site but you can get to it and a host of other good stuff on GRRN's
Deposits web page -- http://grrn.org/beverage/deposits/
BTW, my only email now is zerowaste@GRRN.org.
Cheers,
/Bill Sheehan
