RE: [GreenYes] recycling blueprints & cad drawings Could you summarize the answers and post? yes
1)
Helen ~
In our program, we called our local paper recycling dealer and found out
that certain of these papers were not to be mixed with certain grades, but
could be with others.
I would highly recommend contacting your local market, as they can differ
greatly from area to area.

Good morning.
We were never able to recycle blueprints because of the ammonia content. I
don't know, however, if this was a general prohibition or one that the local
paper recycling firms enforced. The only time we see blueprints any more is
with an occasional submittal. At one time one of our marketing coordinators
was attempting to use blueprints in a paper making process but had trouble
finding enough waste product to make it economical. We only use vellum for
in-house printing and it is recyclable. An increasing number of our
documents are no longer generated on paper medium however, but are
transferred electronically instead.
Hope this helps.

Helena,
I've never heard of a paper recycling program that takes the ammonia treated
blueprint paper. As for the vellum, I'd think any program would take that
since it's a very high grade of paper.
I hope this helps.
