RE: [GreenYes] more gloom on Kyoto
On top of that -- I heard on NPR today that Australia is not going to ratify
their Kyoto commitment, based on the fact that it would be 'bad for the
economy'. Uh ... yuh. It's a lot cheaper to ignore our responsibilities.

They quoted the US precedent.

Subject: [GreenYes] Business Group Criticizes US on Kyoto

The World Business Council on Sustainable Development issued a news release
today in Stockholm criticizing the US on its lack of support for the Kyoto
protocol.

In the release, Björn Stigson noted that there is enough certainty about
climate change so that doing nothing is not an option. He also remarked that
it was clear that the Kyoto protocol was not going to be enough and that
further steps would need to be taken.
