[GreenYes] Re: Fwd: auto recyclers
Dear Alice:

With regard to pollution prevention issues, I would think the issues and BMP's for auto repair / auto body shops would be similar to those for dismantlers (management of working fluids, solvents, scrap metals, etc.) and there is a huge body of resources that can be consulted online with regard to this industry sector.  Some recommendations:

EPA Region III Waste Reduction Clearinghouse - Auto Sector

Pacific Northwest P2 Resource Center - Auto Repair
This site also does a good job of listing the relevant auto dismantling / recycling trade groups that should also be contacted.

Western Regional P2 Network - Auto Repair Topic Hub

I'm looking for best management practices and pollution prevention recommendations for automobile recyclers (wrecking yards).  Also, information about the processes, equipment, products and "lingo" of the industry would be beneficial.  Thanks, ac
