Is the product you're referring to basically what we call a "tin can" that had soup or something like that in it originally? They are considered "bimetal" cans and are accepted in our curbside program. I can't speak for everyone, but I'd venture to guess they are taken by most, if not all, other areas as well.

Are tin-plated steel containers recyclable through curbside systems? A
candle manufacture will be selling candles in these containers and would
like to tell consumers that they can reuse or recycle the container.
