[GreenYes] Alkaline batteries
- Subject: [GreenYes] Alkaline batteries

I recall some postings on this listserv recently about household alkaline batteries. Is it correct to assume that most household alkaline batteries made today contain no added mercury and total mercury in amounts so small as to render them non-hazardous (not necessarily by RCRA standards, but from a more practical view) and thus are OK to landfill?
Thanks.
