In a fully commingled, single stream program like in Greensboro, NC, it's a double-edged sword. The recovery tonnage is higher because of the recovery of glass, but the residue rate is through the roof for the same reason. If they achieve a 30% recovery rate from that program, I'd be suprised. Most is broken in collection and processing and ends up in the landfill.
