An excerpt from an email I received today:

Wake County, NC
. . . Secondly, Wake County has a number of locations for co-mingled plastic
bottle (#1-7) recycling. This material can be taken to any School Igloo
recycling site or Convenience Center. Some of the signs have not been
changed on the containers yet, but you have my official declaration that
you can place any plastic bottle in the containers. Please do not include
anything that doesn't have a neck smaller than the base (not shaped like a
bottle). To find the nearest location to you go to the Wake County web page
at: http://www.co.wake.nc.us/solidwaste.
The recycling site located at Jaycee Park is actually run by the City of
Raleigh and not Wake County. They are also accepting plastic bottles #1-7
there, but they may not have changed their sign yet either. To learn more
about their program go to http://www.raleigh-nc.org/sws/swsindex.htm.
Happy Holidays!
