energy for rubber (SBR) production (no indication in my info if synthetic or natural) is 67,000 BTU/lb  (btw the same study says it takes 12,000 btu/lb to make recycled rubber). (Hafner, 1986)

Steel takes 16,000 BTU/lb (and 6,500 from recycled feedstock). (Battelle Institute, 1975)

I am in the process of gathering information on resources, and have come up against a wall on a few. Any help would be appreciated.
Who are the major country consumers of Silicon dioxide/sand, (i.e. raw materials for glass), and how much energy as BTU does it take to produce 1 lb
How many BTU's to produce 1 lb of tin
How many BTU's to produce 1 lb of synthetic rubber (from petroleum)
Who are the major country consumers of natural rubber and synthetic rubber.
