I use a B & D rechargeable, but I live in the City.  When I lived
outside of Philadelphia, on 2.5 acres, I used a push mower to mow
about 3/4 of an acre and developed meadow, gardens, and natural areas
on the remainder of the acreage.

If you don't mind dancing with the cord and you have a
GFI wall plug. An electric mulching mower has worked
for me.  I bought the Black and Decker rearbag and am
VERY pleased with it.
