The Madison, WI Board of Education votes tonight on whether or not to renew
its exclusivity contract with Coke. A little over a month ago the School
Board voted to send the issue back to committee, where by a vote of 2-1
committee members endorsed continuing the exclusive right of Coke to purvey
its beverages in Madison's schools.
The final outcome is a toss up, even at this late hour. Check your morning
paper, however, as Madison could become the first district not to renew
such an agreement.
