Hello to All!

I must say that the only way "we", meaning all of us here together on this
planet, can get
people to change their current ways of doing things is to:
1. find out why it is that they are doing things a particular way and their
fears/ oppositions of
changing the way that they do that. Fears of the unknown motivate an enormous
number our subconscious thoughts and actions.
2. practice what we preach. We as consumers can just not buy Coke, but instead
grow our own mint, for example, and sun brew a fresh pot of tea for our present
and future needs. And then pour it into our reused/ washed out plastic bottles
for taking with us on the "go".

amyp@chelseacenter.org makes a good point regarding the boycott of Coke and
other large corporation deemed "bad" by the environmental community.  Things
can be taken to an extreme, and we all know how rank and file Americans view
extremists and extremism.  It would be interesting to track this boycott, and
see whether or not students refuse to interview with or turn down jobs
offered by the corporations that will be unveiled in the boycott tomorrow.
Somehow, like many of our politicians, when it comes down to siding with the
environment or siding with money, most nowadays will choose the money side.
Any other comments?
