CONTRACTOR NEEDED

On Site Management\Conference Staff

Background: The California Resource Recovery Association is a dynamic
non-profit organization dedicated to resource conservation through the
practices of reuse, recycling and composting. CRRA works to expand markets
for recycled materials, promotes sustainable materials policies and is a
clearinghouse for information, innovation, and industry and governmental
initiatives. It is the oldest state association of professionals in reuse,
repair, recycling and composting in the United States. Each year the
Association organizes an annual conference bringing over 700 individuals
together to exchange current industry information and cutting edge ideas.

The California Resource Recovery Association Conference Committee is
searching for a skilled Conference assistant. This is a temporary/part time
contract. The contractor will be paid $10.00 per hour, up to a maximum of
$2,500.

Position and Responsibilities: The contractor selected for this position
will be required to work closely with the conference chair and co-chair. The
position will begin April 1 and continue through June 10. The contractor
will be required to work up to 20 hours per week until the conference and
will work full days June 6-10, 1999. Responsibilities include answering
questions by phone, confirming speakers, clerical and other tasks. On-site
responsibilities will include confirming room set up, audio visual needs,
monitoring schedule, and responding to participants.

Qualifications: Contractors applying for this position should have prior
experience with on site management at conferences, conventions or workshops.
He/she should be detailed oriented, proficient with word processing
programs, customer service oriented, possess good phone skills and be
confident in handling questions and challenges during the conference.
