Mr. Sheehan, I cannot believe you could be so naive as to make that
statement. Who indeed could doubt? Several years ago, William
Raspberry wrote in his column that what technology has created,
technology can solve. I think that he, for one, would doubt it. I
will never forget a Frank and Ernst cartoon strip which captured the
perspectives beautifully. A senator is seated at his desk and his
aide is there to announce that the group for the 2:00 meeting had
arrived. You can see them in the anteroom holding their placards with
varying themes of "Save the Earth, Recycle and , US--the Nation of
Conservation." The senator looks at his aide and says "Gads, I hate
dealing with these special interest groups."
