Dear Kae,

I fully agree with what Cindy said! There is also a technique called the
"five-foot rule": talk to everyone who comes within five feet of you about the
work you are looking for and perhaps they may be just the person who helps you
make just the right connection!

Maybe while you are looking, one of those other positions (volunteer, etc.)
might provide you with the right lead. You can also meet many people that way
and add to your pool of experience. Best wishes.

Rebecca Brown

Folks,

I am actively looking for an employment opportunity in
the environmental field for three straight months, but
I have not found anything. I have a degree in
environmental studies with a business minor, but all I
see is like a) $200 a week stipend job without
benefit, b) $19K with benefit job even in places where
a monthly rent exceed $1400, c) part-time / internship
for a few months or d) volunteer opportunity. Am I
looking at wrong places, web-sites? I thought
environmental laws and regulations are getting tighter
and consequently there will be more job opportunities
to meet the requirement. There is even a publication
called something like Jobs Through Recycling by EPA.
Where is the job? Please let me hear your experiences
and comments.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Yours Truly,

Kae Ono
