Yup -- I do know that Bob Falk of the Forest Products
Lab has developed a proposal to establish grading
criteria, engineering property data and a proposed
system to develop grade stamps for reused lumber.
Grade stamps on virgin lumber verify their quality and
how they can be used, and the lack of any such
system for reused lumber presently limits its
marketability. I don't know the current status of the
proposal, but Falk can be reached at 608-231-9255 or
<rfalk@facstaff.wisc.edu>.
