Subject: Source for Non-PVC plumbing pipe
To all:
As long as we are discussing the problems associated with PVCs, I would
like to find a source of plumbing pipe which is not made from PVC. I am
currently using Cresline 1/2" pipe ASTM D 1785 PPFA which has an outer
diameter of 7/8", inner diameter of 1/2". Pipe will be drilled to provide
perforations for aeration. An alternative would be to purchase pipe with
perforations already present. This is used in 13 and 17 1/2" to provide
aeration tubes in our vermicomposting bin. Info on non-PVC equivalents
would be welcome. Copper won't work in the acid environment of a worm bin.
