Dear
As a member of the newly-formed Grassroots Recycling Network (GRN) Steering
Committee, I am writing to request your support of and involvement in our
activities.
We are a small, but growing, group of grassroots activists and recycling
professionals, who are in the process of implementing the Total Recycling
Campaign. Our short-term goal is to jump-start the grassroots recycling
movement in time to influence this summer's conventions and the national
election in November. GRN's longer term goal is to maintain the
momentum and continue to influence local, state, and national policy and
action on real resource conservation issues following the November
election.
The steering committee will convene for a small strategizing meeting in
conjunction with the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA)
conference in Newport Beach, CA June 16 - 18, 1996. As an important
member of the grassroots recycling community, we welcome
your participation in the strategizing meeting. We will meet as a group on
Sunday, June 16th from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. The
agenda for the meeting will be to review and ratify the three messages for
our campaign and to develop a strategy for influencing the national
election this year.
Your input is crucial in developing a strategy for organizing the
grassroots recycling community and influencing the national election.
Please contact Jennifer Leahy or myself at ILSR if you would be interested
in attending the strategizing meeting and/or speaking at the CRRA
conference.
I look forward to working with you again.
Sincerely,
Neil Seldman
President
